The Village Diversity Committee is THRILLED to present the community screening of La Manplesa: An Uprising Remembered at Lamont Park in the Mount Pleasant Neighborhood of Washington, DC on El Salvador’s Independence Day, Wednesday, September 15. The event will feature local food vendors, community partners and organizations, music by DJ Envy One, and special performances by local poets and musicians
The event is free & open to the public and will begin at 6:00pm ET. The screening will begin at 7:00pm ET, opening with live performances from local poets and musicians. Local non-profit organizations, community groups, and vendors will be present and the event will be hosted by poet, actor, community activist, and producer for the film, Quique Avilés.
*While masks are not required, attendees are encouraged to abide by masks and social distancing guidance set forth by the CDC.
