The Communications Committee uses multiple media to inform members of Village activities and issues, promote the Village both within the Mount Pleasant neighborhood and the larger D.C. community, and to communicate with Village partners and outside organizations.
Responsible for developing the strategies and activities that foster a Village membership as racially, culturally, economically and ethnically diverse as the neighborhood itself. The Committee believes that without a directed and continuous commitment to diversity and inclusion, significant growth will not occur. The Committee defines diversity to include race, ethnicity, cultural background, economic status, sexual orientation, and gender identity. The Committee explicitly works on bringing programs on racial justice and equity to the larger Village.
Supports continuity and health of the Board
The Finance Committee assists the Treasurer in assuring the fiscal health of the Village and keeping financial policies and procedures up to date.
The Membership Committee is responsible for outreach to the Mount Pleasant community and works with other Village committees to improve diversity, to ensure membership satisfaction, and to promote continued membership.
Builds Village relationships with neighborhood businesses and with other organizations within the neighborhood and across the city.
Social and Cultural Activities, Health and Wellness Activities, Information and Resources Sessions and Interest Groups.
