Existing or aspirational opera lovers? The MPV opera-goers’ group is gearing up for the start of the 2025-26 season of the “Met in HD” series of broadcasts. For anyone not familiar with this program, since 2006 the Metropolitan Opera in NYC has been broadcasting live Saturday matinee performances of each opera in its season, usually on large HD screens, in 2000+ movie theaters in 70+ countries around the world. Our group usually attends performances at the AMC Regal Majestic in Silver Spring (comfortable seats, easy parking). 

The first opera of the season is La Sonnambula by Italian composer Vincenzo Bellini. These are always incredible performances and enjoyable to attend with others—whether you're an opera lover or want to try it for the first time.
